The Right Wing Assault on Urban Democracy and Smart Government

Target San Diego CoverBy Lee Cokorinos for the Center on Policy Initiatives

Target San Diego is an analysis of the Right wing infrastructure of local and regional think tanks and their strategy to build power in urban areas to secure permanent political control at the state and national levels. As a testing ground for new conservative tactics in urban areas, San Diego and other 'purple cities,' including Denver, Miami and Atlanta have the potential to swing national elections.

Target San Diego emphasizes the urgency of developing a broader and more strategic progressive agenda by significantly increasing the capacities of progressive movements at the local and regional level.
